Selaginella Peacock

Add some iridescent magic to your terrarium. Selaginella Peacock Spike Moss (aka the plant that looks like it's had a filter applied IRL) brings a shimmery, almost metallic blue-green sheen to any setup — genuinely one of the most eye-catching things you can add to a jar.

This one's a bit more of a diva than your average terrarium filler: it wants consistent humidity and low-to-medium light, which makes it an ideal match for closed or mostly-closed terrariums where that moisture just stays locked in. Not one for open desert setups or dry windowsills.

Available as either fresh cuttings (perfect if you're building your own terrarium from scratch and want to tuck it in alongside other plants) or as a 12cm established plant (better if you want an instant, fuller look, or you're adding it to something already set up).

A little goes a long way — even a small cutting will spread and fill out over time in the right conditions, so don't be put off by how modest it looks on arrival.
